💦 6 Tips To Wash and Maintain Your Reusable Cotton Pads

Now you may be wondering how best to wash my reusable cotton pads? So that we extend the life of our washable cotton pads (less waste), and keep them looking nicer. Wash the cotton pads the first time before use, the absorption of makeup is better then.

💦1. Use them wet and rinse them out

By proofing them before use, squeezing them, then removing your makeup, and rinsing them immediately with possibly some hand soap, you ensure that your washable cotton pads will last the longest and look nice longer.

If you use some soap, for example from LUSH, clean any unused side, that way you push the makeup out, so to speak, from the other side.

🤲 2. Sometimes wash them by hand

By hand washing the cotton pads sometimes when they haven't gotten very dirty, we make sure they last longer. Are they not that dirty but you still want to machine wash them? Then wash them at 30° or 40° degrees, instead of 60°.

☝️ Please note! Not all cotton pads are washable at 60°. However, all Bamboozy cotton pads are tested to be washed at 60°.

🙅‍♀️ 3. Do not use fabric softener

Fabric softener reduces the absorbency of your cotton pads. Also, don't use bleach or stain removers; these can damage the fabric.

🧼 4. Use the included laundry bag

This way they stay together and don't get caught or stuck behind anything. Tip: Do you have a cotton laundry bag? Then button it 2-3. Otherwise, they can fly out. Also, don't wash them with too many at once because chances are they won't get as clean.

✨ 5. Still stains?

Soak your cotton pads in white vinegar and lemon. Longer is better. Then wash them in the washing machine. Are they still not clean by then? Then don't worry, they do remain usable and retain their function ☺️

🌬 6. Do not put them in the dryer

For longer life, it is better to hang the cotton pads. I use this Ikea Octopus hanger PRESSA.

Wow!! Really wow!! I was very skeptical about the menstrual cup at first, and after trying one from another brand, I thought, ‘this is not for me.’ But I still wanted to give it another chance and bought one from you. And I’m sold!!! I don’t want anything else anymore. Very easy to insert and remove, and the idea that you can wear it without any problems for twelve hours is very comforting to me. I am a forensic pathologist and have days when I am busy non-stop, and now I can do my work without being afraid of leaking or smelling! I am very satisfied!

I bought the M size cup! In my 10 years of experience with menstrual cups, I have tried 2 types. First, the Organicup and the own brand of Kruidvat. These seemed fine, but now that I have this one, I know what really feels good. It's fantastic! It has the right firmness, and I'm sure I won't leak. That was sometimes different with the others. The package arrived super quickly and was nicely packed. There was also a personal note included, and I received a free washing strip! That also turns out to be very nice. Super nice website with great products, I would definitely order more from here. I'm convinced!

Life changing!! I bought the menstrual disc and the sanitizer and they both work SO well. I used to use menstrual cups, and I do enjoy them, but they are sometimes a pain for me, because every few months my period is super heavy and I'd need to empty the cup every 3ish hours. The self-emptying aspect of the disc is amazing and I actually really like that it's not suction based as well. The sanitizer... literally so amazing! I didn't think not having to wait for water to boil would be such a big change, but 1 minute versus 10ish (waiting for the water to boil and then waiting 4-6 mins for your cup to be sanitized) is a huge game changer. Can't recommended either of these products enough! Also, bamboozy included wash strips samples with my order and I LOVE THEM! Consider me a convert :) In general, amazing service, products and all around amazing shop. Will 100% recommend to anyone!

Menstrual disc pleasantly surprised me. I had no experience with it, but I am positive about it. I was a bit nervous at first, but I got the hang of it quickly. And ultimately, I am very satisfied. The fear is gone. It's nice that I don't have to carry pads everywhere. Swimming works well with it, and I haven't had any accidents. One thing I still need to get used to is that when my period is almost over, I almost forget to take it out because I don't feel it at all.

I ordered a menstrual disc between Christmas and New Year's, and I received it before the new year. Pleasantly surprised by the fast delivery! I chose a disc because I read some time ago about the toxic substances in tampons and the increased risk of TSS. I rarely used pads because I find them impractical and less fresh. I recently used the disc for the first time and am satisfied with it so far. Inserting and removing the disc took some getting used to at first, but now that I've got the hang of it, I don't want to go back to tampons! I managed to remove it without spilling from the very first time. I also haven't had any leaks. The entire time I have the disc in, I don't feel it at all. I haven't succeeded with the autodump feature yet. Maybe next month. Since the disc only needs to be emptied and cleaned once every 12 hours, it makes for carefree menstruation; you no longer need to replace your tampon or pad every few hours. Good for your wallet and the environment.
